There is no shame in asking for help

About This Quote

I have often heard, “there is no shame in asking for help.” This is one of the hardest things to teach children to believe. Children are taught that there is shame in asking for help. When they feel hurt or hurt someone else, they are taught that it is shameful to admit that they are hurt or that they hurt someone else. They are told that to ask for help means to be weak and make excuses about their pain. It has been shown in studies that children who are taught there is no shame in asking for help do better in school, do better in sports, make more friends, and develop stronger social skills.
